My laptop is broken. It keeps showing me the Blue Screen of Death every time I boot it up. It's a blessing and a curse, all rolled into one. I MISS checking my favorite blogs and hunting for bargains and trolling facebook, but HEY LOOK! I HAVE KID! Who knew?! He's been getting an awful lot of my undivided attention lately, and he likes it. A happy kid makes for a happy mama. But I really miss my laptop...like REALLY miss it.

400
This is my 400th post. So that means I've been underwhelming tens of people for the last couple of years with stories of my kid and a good portion of you have stuck with me through all 400 entries. Thank you. I started blogging after I found this website and fell in love with 7 kids that aren't mine because they're just so darn cute. I still check her every day looking for new posts. I've discovered some awesome bloggin' ladies like her, her, her and her. Some kick ass single mamas like this one, this one, this one, this one, and definitely this one.
I don't blog all that much about myself, it's mostly just a chronicle of Lucas and our life together, so that he'll know when he's older that I tried my best. It's not easy being a solo parent but I'm working hard everyday to make sure he never feels like he's missed out on anything. That he never feels he had less than his little buddies with a mom and a dad in the picture. So, thanks for sticking with us...you'll never know how much it means to me.
And hey! If you're a regular lurker but never a commenter? Let me know you're here! I'm always curious... ;)

Trying it Out...
Going with a new theme for the season...like it?
If I was to pull a theme from our life to spruce up the 'ole blog? It would be Star Wars with a menacing Darth Vader face and multiple space ships I don't know the names of. We are all about the Star Wars right now. Elaborate "movies" made with a four year old narrator and two sets of chubby fingers characters racing along edges of couches and coffee tables. Old Star Wars VHS tapes watched in bed wearing Star Wars unders and pajamas. Pasta dinners on plastic Luke Skywalker plates. This is what I've been waiting for...this change from toddler to boy. It's been right around the corner for months now, but it's finally upon us, and I hope I'm ready. But since I'm already saturated with all things outer space and other worldly, I guess we'll stick with a pumpkin theme until the snow falls.

Sitemeter Might Be Evil
I'm not sure what's so different this week versus any other but we have been visited by several countries far and wide in the last seven days, which both amazes me and creeps me out a bit. How about all of you? Do you use Sitemeter on your blog? And if so, does it make you uneasy when you check it or is it just me? Might be time for me to stop looking...
On a completely separate note...any chance any of you are going to go to the Blogher Reachout Tour in Boston in October? I was thinking about making the trip, but it'd be fun to know any of you might be there!

Motherly Advice...Misunderstood
We were driving down the road today and Lucas saw a guy drive by on a motorcycle.
Him: Hey! When I grow up I'm gonna drive a motorcycle! No wait! No wait, no wait! When I grow up I'm gonna ride a skateboard!
Me: Really? Because I think you'd pick up more chicks on a motorcycle.
Him: (Long pause) Why would I want to do that? Pick up chicks on a motorcycle? I don't even like chicken!
Ahhh...someday he'll appreciate all of my good advice...maybe when he's seven or eight. Four seems a bit young.
In other news...I got to do a guest blog for Single Minded Women! Exciting and fancy!
